![]() ![]() I have stayed in this hotel previously 2 or 3 times before when it was International Palms and we have always had a lovely holiday without any hassle. Having read some of the previous reviews after the new refurbs have taken place we were a little bit worried about are stay. We have just returned from a 2 week Family holiday staying at the Avanti Palms. If you categorize it correctly, you will not be disappointed. If you are thinking about booking - it is a good low cost property, but you have to think about it as the beach hotel your parents took you to ,where the doors don't close well, and the bathroom wall tile is patchwork. Adding a $35/day resort charge to a $95/night room feels like you're just trying to hide a higher rate for a property that doesn't justify that pricing. Lower or remove the resort fee and include it in the room rate. Our bathroom experience would be totally different if the tile between the tub and door wasn't propped there, the shower head was secured, and the door closed without having to shove it. It currently looks as though you spent a ton of money and left the final details undone. When you sell a house the bathroom and kitchen sell the house, similarly if you have a hotel room, the bathroom speaks the loudest. If I could give the owners/managers constructive feedback: - Finish the bathrooms. From what I can tell the hotel rebranded, upgraded and reopened in the not too distant past. There was a tile between the door and tub that was just placed there to cover a hole, but not cemented in so it fell down from time to time leaving a gaping hole. The shower head was not secured in the wall so it moves around if you want to change the type of spray. The cons: it feels like they didn't totally finish the remodel, the resort fee is high considering the rooms feel like a budget hotel, the AC ran 100% of the time we were there and it was loud, the toilet ran off and on, and none of the doors shut smoothly (bathroom and door to the room). The water pressure was good in the shower, the new floors in the rooms are beautiful and the room was huge. Conveniently located, walking distance to good food and family things to do. The pros: The lobby is beautiful, the bartender went above and beyond, and the front desk service was great. Walking into the lobby feels like a resort, but that impression ends there. ![]() We stayed in the tower for 2 nights and overall had a positive impression of the property, but the hotel rooms don't fit with the lobby impression.
